Which tool for which job

Digital multimeter: pack voltage, continuity through fuses and plugs, throttle and sensor signals.
Brushless motor and controller tester: helps separate a motor fault from a controller fault.
Connector pin kit with crimping tool: re-pinning small signal plugs.
Freewheel remover: check the spline pattern on your freewheel first; on many hub motor wheels a standard freewheel tool will not slide on.
Chain tool and tire levers: the bicycle side of the repair.
