Replace a cracked, stuck or dead throttle with a direct-fit thumb throttle for Bafang e-bike systems. The cable ends in a 3-pin waterproof female plug that mates with the male throttle lead on the standard 1T4 harness used by Bafang BBS01B, BBS02B and BBSHD mid-drive kits, and by Bafang hub-motor kits wired with the same harness.
The thumb paddle clamps onto a 22.2 mm (7/8") handlebar. Choose the cable length that reaches your harness: 23 cm when the harness lead already runs up to the bar, or 70 cm when you need extra reach.
Check before you order: unplug your current throttle and look at the plug. This part fits a round, waterproof 3-pin female connector. It is not for 2-pin or 5-pin plugs, for twist-grip throttles, or for systems from other brands whose 3-pin plug has a different shell or pin order.
Installation: disconnect the battery, loosen the grip or brake clamp enough to slide the old throttle off, fit the new one, route the cable with zip ties, reconnect and test. Allow about 15 minutes. If the throttle seems dead afterwards, check that pedal assist is not set to level 0, which disables the throttle on some Bafang setups.

- 2) The point where the throttle cable meets the harness.
- 3) Caliper or tape measurement of the handlebar where the throttle sits (should read 22.2 mm).
