9-Pin Motor Cable, Male Plug with Hall Leads, 60 cm

When the 9-pin plug on a hub-motor lead or on the controller side has been pulled out, burnt or corroded, or the lead is torn where it leaves the motor, a cable with a fresh male 9-pin plug can replace the damaged section. Whether it works on your bike depends on the plug, the pin layout and how the loose end is joined. This cable has a waterproof male 9-pin plug at one end and a 60 cm lead; the other end splits into individual hall-sensor and motor phase wires.

Check before you order: this is not a straight extension. The split end has to be joined to your own wiring by function. Use a multimeter to map which wire carries each phase, +5 V, ground, each Hall signal and any extra line, then join each one to the wire with the same function. Wire colors only help you tell the wires apart; they differ between makers. It suits people, or shops, comfortable with soldering or crimping. If you only need extra length, a female-to-male extension cable is the better part. The manufacturer does not state the plug shell family (Z910, Z916 and others exist), so compare the shell, the key and the gender with your own plug by photo. If the cable has to pass through a motor axle, measure its outside diameter against the axle hole first.

Disconnect the battery before touching any wiring and insulate every joint.
