This thumb throttle clamps onto a 22 mm (7/8 in) handlebar tube and gives proportional speed control with your thumb. Its 160 cm cable ends in bare wires, and an SM plug housing is supplied separately in the pack.
Key facts as stated by the manufacturer: made for 22 mm handlebar tubes, 160 cm cable, 50 g, plastic and metal construction with raised ribs on the thumb paddle, for controllers with a hall-type throttle input (5 V). The manufacturer quotes use on 12 V to 72 V systems. An L-shaped hex wrench is included.
Check before you order: the bare leads have to be fitted into a plug before the throttle will connect, so it suits people comfortable with crimping or soldering. Make sure your controller expects a three-wire hall throttle (positive, negative, signal) and that your bar is 22 mm. It is not for 2-pin or 5-pin throttle plugs, twist-grip handlebars or bars of a different diameter.
Installation takes about 20 minutes: disconnect the battery, slide the old throttle off, clamp the new one, wire the plug and test with the wheel off the ground.
