Brake and Shift Cable and Housing Kit, Stainless Wires

A full cable refresh in one box, for the brakes and the gears. Use it when cables are rusty, sticky or frayed, or to rebuild the controls on a bike you are restoring. The listing says it suits mountain, road, small-wheel and folding bikes, and this one is black.

In the kit: 2.5 m of 5 mm brake housing, 2 m of 4 mm shift housing, inner wires for the front and rear brake, two inner shift wires (listed as 1.55 m front and 2.2 m rear), 6 O-rings, 8 end caps, 8 brake copper sleeves and 21 cable ferrules. The inner wires are stainless steel and the housing is PVC.

Check before you order: brake housing is 5 mm and shift housing 4 mm, so make sure your levers, shifters and frame cable stops accept those sizes. The brake wire is double-headed: each end suits a different type of brake lever, so you cut off the end you do not need. The listing does not name the brake or shifter brands it suits, so compare the wire ends with your old cables.

Not for hydraulic brakes. Cut housing with a proper cable cutter so the liner stays round.
