This 9-pin waterproof extension cable has a female plug on one end and a male plug on the other. It adds reach between two plugs that already mate, or replaces a damaged plug-in extension section that has the same plugs at each end. It cannot repair a cut in a lead that is fixed into the motor or the controller.
Key facts as stated by the manufacturer: 9-pin round waterproof plugs, 60 cm (about 24 in) long, a soft flexible outer jacket, and arrow marks on the plugs so you can line the two halves up before pushing them together.
Check before you order: 9-pin motor plugs come in several shell shapes (for example Z910 and Z916 types) and the manufacturer does not say which one this is. Match the shape and the male/female sex of your plugs with a close-up photo. It is not for 10-pin or 6-pin plugs or for mid-drive motors.
Installation takes about 10 minutes: switch the battery off, unplug the old lead, push the plugs together following the arrows until they seat fully, and tie the cable clear of the chain and wheel.
